@George S. Beaudion:

The 1960 is by far the best car I have seen on the show. I owned a 1960 Impala conv. and I sure wish I would of kept it, however in the early 70’s no one thought much about holding on to them. I would love for Gas Monkey to do one for me in the same color combo, engine, brakes etc. Fantastic car!

Posted on October 30, 2013 at 7:56 pm

    Thanks George, it was one of our favorites as well for sure!

    Posted on October 31, 2013 at 4:32 pm

have to agree with aaron this is nicer than the rusty cadi but just as good for the chinise fire drill love your show whats the newest model car you guys have worked on

Posted on October 30, 2013 at 8:41 pm

Can you tell me what style of Intro rim is on the Bel Air? What is the tire sizes? Thanks

Posted on October 31, 2013 at 10:22 am

    The wheels are v-rod style and 20’s in the back and 18’s in the front.

    Posted on October 31, 2013 at 4:26 pm

that is badass how much does it cost

Posted on October 31, 2013 at 4:06 pm

    More than I wanted it to…

    Posted on October 31, 2013 at 4:24 pm

does it have working ac.

Posted on October 31, 2013 at 6:24 pm

This one cool car dude. I have been working 15 hour shifts for the last month and did not get a chance to watch the build. I will try to utube, dvr, dvd, vcr the episode or something. Fins make me want to swim with Jaws and eat his freakin lunch.

My dad had one of these back in 1968 when I was just 14.
Gas Monkey did a fantastic job as always but this one is my all time favourite.
Love every aspect of the show.
If only I could win the Saskatchewan Lotto I would be commissioning GMG to build me one like this.
Keep up the good work.

Great show keep on keeping on.

love this car and your show,but you kinda pissed me off whan you scraped the caddy.you got scrap price for it $400-600. that would have been a good project for someone that dosent have alot of money to hone his skills on.

Posted on November 1, 2013 at 4:08 pm

Just wondering if you guys ever put up parts list for the projects you have completed? I just wonder sometimes while I’m watching what exhaust you went with or brand of control arms you chose etc. Anyways what exhaust did y’all use for this 60? Great build by the way.

Does GMG sell any of the old parts off the cars they build?

Posted on November 4, 2013 at 2:33 pm

    Not usually because they’re usually removed for a reason (rusted, broken, etc). But we’re thinking about selling pallets of parts from builds.

    Posted on November 4, 2013 at 5:21 pm

Thanks. The BelAir build brought back memories of my sisters 60 Impala 348 car. My restoration is a 62 BelAir Sport Coupe 409 hp/409 cid. It was a local drag car from Fort Worth, you may know of it. I’ll call and leave my name and number if you want to talk. The parts I’m seeking are very generic.

One last question on those V Rod rims, They look Satin and not polished, is that correct?

Thanks Man for the info.

Posted on November 13, 2013 at 9:24 pm
@Tommy Smith:

I’m gonna try asking once more….what type of exhaust did u put on the 60?
Also did u do a cam swap on the LS? I tried looking during the show plus looked at all the pics & don’t see any of undercarriage. Thanks

Posted on November 13, 2013 at 9:38 pm

    Aaron custom built Mangnaflow exhaust to go in the 60.

    Posted on November 19, 2013 at 7:01 pm

I have one last question on the V Rod Rims. Are they polished or Satin? Its difficult to tell from the pics. Getting ready to order from Intro sand want them looking like those on the Bel Air. Thanks man for the info.

Posted on November 19, 2013 at 6:01 pm

Out of all your builds, and I don’t think I’ve missed an episode, this Bel Air is still my favorite by far. You guys took what you did with that Ford Galaxie to another level. Keep it up! I have a ’69 Mercury Monterey 2dr hardtop that my dad bought new in ’69 and you are motivating me to “Bel Air” it!!!!

Posted on November 23, 2013 at 4:42 am

Posted on November 27, 2013 at 4:16 pm

Just to 2nd, 3rd and 4th, the best rebuild yet! I had a 64 as my first car at 16 and hot rod modded it and everyone would give me a thumbs up. I even had the homeboys that made them low ridership tell me it was bad ass! And this was a 4 door! Got the itch to build a new car and just told the wife it’s going to be a 60 belair and showed her your pics. Yea, she rolled her yes and said oh no! Hahahaha! Thanks for the great show!

Posted on November 29, 2013 at 9:10 pm

    Very welcome, Don. You can’t go wrong with a ’60.

    Posted on December 2, 2013 at 9:07 pm

Is it just me,is anybody else not noticing the poor quality interior? The seem line on top is crooked as hell. Sue makes fun of gas Monkey calling them ass monkeys but I thnk she needs to check her work ha ha! this is why its called as seen on tv real world don’t work this way. very nice paint and mechanical work tho..

Posted on December 3, 2013 at 12:57 pm

    The interior looked great when we got it back. Maybe they showed an unfinished shot of the interior or something like that. Glad you liked the rest of what you saw.

My Dad just gave me his 1960 Chevy Biscayne, we restored it together when i was in high school, and since it was his, it sat for about 20 years in a garage. Now its mine! Saw your show and got all kinds of ideas. Now I have to ship it to FL, find a shop and make it Badass. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Posted on December 8, 2013 at 9:34 am

Hey Guys! I also saw the Bel Air at the Timonium, MD car show. Tim, the owner, was very enthusiastic about the Bel Air and Gas Monkey Garage. He even let me sit in the driver’s seat, so we could get pictures. To all who were involved with the build, the car turned out AWESOME! Aaron, the Bel Air is in good hands. Love the show!

Posted on December 10, 2013 at 3:29 pm

This car is bad ass!! Great job on this one guys. A guy at my shop just told me about this one because I just picked up a 4 door 1960 bel air. I know two two many doors. Lol keep up the good work.

Posted on December 30, 2013 at 3:59 pm

    I don’t think we have any online with the Bel Air unfortunately. But we post them all the time on our YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/getmonkified

@Marc Bing:

I gotta say, seeing this old school Chevy done up was by FAR my favorite episode of this show! Everyone at the shop was in there like swimwear the moment they saw this car! Everyone in the shop fired on all cylinders in the building process of this beautiful ride…even SUE was down for the cause on this one! Everybody had a blast with this one and it showed! This one was completely drama free…everything flowed like clockwork! Even when u first picked it up, u could’ve flipped it for like, 15K and some change just as it was! But seeing the crew go all out with this ’60 Bel Air was the icing on the cake! I just love to see a nice old school bow tie done just right and u hit it right on the head with this one! Excellent job with this one, Richard!!!!

Can please tell me what size tires front & back you use for 60 Bel air. Thanks

Watching the show in the UK, a little behind the US air date. Loving the Bel Air. Fantastic Space Race lines and a really sweet car to bring into the Gas Monkey Era. Keep up the style. Maybe I’ll send you one of my Maseratis to see what you make of European styling. Getting ready for a run to Modena, ship that Gumball 550 and we’ll race you to the Riviera. YOLO.

Nice! I just got a 1960 Biscayne resto-mod with a 454, lowered with coy wheels- in tuxedo black. The laymen would get this one and my car mixed up for sure! I love these models, maybe only the 1959s better. And the delivery sedans (I’m weird.) El Camino’s too. Most underrated cars IMO. That’s fine by me- keep the prices low! 🙂

@Ralph Guetta:

I’m so hooked on this show!! My favorite episode is the one with the black 1960 Bell Air. I have a 1961 Tan Bell Air that’s all original in fantastic shape with only 34,000 miles but still needs work to make it updated. Would it be possible to get the parts used on that episode? Before I get in over my head I would love to know how much you guys dummed into that project. I want to make this my everyday car and you never know maybe this might be a project down the road for gas monkey (not to be on the show of course). I mean hey I need to pay someone to do the work and your crew kicked ass on this project.

Posted on October 16, 2014 at 10:26 pm

G.M. Sure would like to know the tire and wheel make/size you used on the 60. My 60 Impala convert. sure would look bitch en with them, sorry that sounds like an other show.

@Jeff Hanson:

I seen the 67 Caddy convertible that you did for Raisin Cain. I know the wheels are MOB STEEL and was hoping you could tell me the diameter and back space/offset. I have got to get a set of these for my 1966 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. Thanks I LOVE your show and keep em coming.
I plan to visit in 2016.

@Dan Sandaker:

What size rims and tires did you run on that ’60? I know they are 18’s and 20’s. But more curious on back spacing, width, and tire size. I’m building a similar car and love the look and stance of this car. Thanks!
