They’re ain’t “o’s” in the word cool to describe you guys. Feature a lot of big, brassy American build-outs & you’ll have me as a viewer for life.

Morning Mr. Rawlings,

My best friend and I live in Phoenix and love your show. My best friend, Todd, has ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. We both Love Mustangs and at one time we both owned one. I know that we would love to meet you when you come out to the auction this week! I will try to purchase tickets for Friday to see the Mustang go up for Auction and hope we can run into each other and maybe have a drink? I will be wearing my Gas Monkey T-Shirt pushing Todd around in his wheelchair, should be easy to spot, I will be waving from the back when the Mustang goes up! Hope to see you and Dennis!

Richard I Love the show, Never Miss It, You do some Great builds, I especially Liked the “Coyote” 67 Galaxie, I have a Couple of Projects I have been gathering parts for a while, Your show has given Me some Ideas that I want to incorporate into these Vehicles. It can get rather Cold here in winter and working away on the Toys is a Good way to help Winter pass. Is the BOSS 429 a Barn find or Is it a Build We haven’t seen Yet, I appreciate that Gas Monkey has done Quite a Few Ford Vehicles, Usually its a GM dominated World on Most shows but You Do Anything and thats what Keeps Me a Fan, keep em coming. WOOOOOO

Richard: when are you badass monkeys coming to London. (thats in the United Kingdom, small, but pretty little cool island just of coast of europe. Admittedly not quite as big as Texas but still a damn good laugh! Let’s call it a roadtrip as you Yanks would say, but probably knowing you boys it might end up being Hangover-esk.
P.s if if you you chaps do come, there is one condition.
You have to bring that chinese lady, Sue along.

Hey Richard. I’ve been waiting for you to go to a REAL car auction. Hope you make up for all the flops at those local auctions. Oh, and the Gasser was ghastly. Way too much green and glitter. Sometimes less is more. Just sayin’ Good luck boys.

@Obie-one:

Love to see you guys working on classic cars and flipping them. Makes me remember why I still stare at cars longer than my wife. We’ll be in Dallas for the Dallas vs Pittsburg hockey game. Hope to have a burger at the GMG grill and see what’s all the talk about! Blessings guys!

Posted on January 17, 2014 at 3:13 pm

Are you guys selling GMG Gear at Barrett Jackson? If so where?

Posted on January 17, 2014 at 3:15 pm
@Huy:

I looked through the Barret-Jackson listings. I saw a Lincoln Zephre but The Ferrari F40 didn’t have the red F40 logo on the rear wing. I watched the show and I distinctly saw that on there…. that little red logo does a lot for the car.

@Janet French:

I have a 65 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88. It is definitely a project car. I put new tires and a battery on the car. I think it needs a new starter. It has a 425 motor and I drove it a few times. I then got hurt in a work accident and have become disabled. I can’t afford to fix or finish the car. It has an awesome straight body that has been primed and now has surface rust but nothing serious. I would like to get about $3,000. for it. I really need to sell it if you’re not interested maybe you might know of a shop in California that might be interested. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Posted on January 17, 2014 at 5:13 pm
@Jon Wilson:

Hey Richard best of luck at the auction to yall from the cold mtns in NC. If you ever get this way & need a 4×4 project I’ve got a fj40 with a small block swap that would make a nice ride. Or more your taste I have a 1930 model a thats very clean! So when your pockets fatten up after the sales gimme a holler hahaha, take care amigo

@Tim L.:

Saw Richard on Thursday evening @ Barrett-Jackson, while he was topside in the private lounge area. Saw Richard again a little later. Where? Why at the bar, hanging with some of his friends, of course. We left him alone. I’m sure he was tired of shaking hands, posing for pics and signing autographs. The place was packed. When I was back later this morning, Friday, noticed they rearranged and even added more chairs for the bidder section. By the way, to sit in the bidders section, you must pony up $500 per seat, plus register and be pre-screened to buy, and there’s lots of buyers. City of Scottsdale did a great job of putting up a nice new building, reconfiguring the lots so no more lower levels of cars in tents. Everything is now on the same level, with more tents added this year and there’s more vendors. Check out the all the great new cars in the Ford Factory section as soon as you enter the building through the main entrance. Parking is also better this year, as there is plenty more parking close to the auction instead of having to ride shuttle buses. Good Luck, Richard, especially on selling the COPO CRC Camaro. Be interesting to see what it sells for. There’s only one other 2013 COPO Camaro going up on the auction block, but it’s not a CRC and it’s only got a 427, not a 454 like Richard’s COPO. Oh yeah, saw Don “The Snake” Prudhomme and Buddy Martin of Sox & Martin fame. Don is auctioning off both the Snake and Mongoose Mattel Hot Wheels sponsored Funny Cars, and also the Snake and Mongoose Transporters, all have been restored, except for the Mongoose funny car, which is a reproduction. He’s selling them altogether at one shot. One of the Sox & Martin ORIGINAL and Unrestored Fastback Hemi Cudas is going up for sale. So much great stuff to talk about, so little time.

@Steve:

love the show, I restore datsuns and can appreciate the stress of trying to find parts in a crunch time if you ever build a Datsun 240 bring me in I’ll show you a thing or too. Love watching KC paint also its definetly an art.

Gas Monkey just got raped at Barrett-Jackson. What a shame, that COPO Camaro is worth WAAAY more than is sold for…Very sad. Someone got a great freaking deal though!

Posted on January 18, 2014 at 2:27 pm
@Allen Schwarz:

I missed the sale of the Mustang and The Copo. What did they bring for you guys. Love the show and super excited to see what the F40 brings. Good luck to Dennis on that. Too bad you sold it to him Richard.

Posted on January 18, 2014 at 3:21 pm

BJ auctions were not good to you guys. Try MECUM Auctions if they will let you. You would have sold them for more and had more fun. Just my thoughts

@TRUCKINPEACH:

I thought it was odd Fox stayed away from mentioning Richard or Gas Monkey while cars were going across. The only time Richard was on screen was far away shots or they were talking over him before COPO sold. Seemed like a snubbing.

Posted on January 21, 2014 at 7:03 am

loving me some gas monkey garage!

@Bill Karnutt:

perhaps it’s been asked already, but, are you guys gonna pick up the lastest IROC-Z? i understand it’s extremely badass but i bet GMG could tweak it some more

Posted on January 21, 2014 at 2:32 pm
@Bill Karnutt:

Richard, just had a flurry of brain activity: why not do your own auction(s)? You’ve got a great following. It could click. OK, that said, i’m now going back into my snow cave in upstate NY

Posted on January 21, 2014 at 2:43 pm
    @RR:

    We do list our stuff on eBay from time to time, but we usually don’t keep enough stuff on hand to support an auction on their own.

@TRUCKINPEACH:

HEY RICHARD DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU RECEIVED A FAIR SHAKE AT BARRETT? WE CAN COMMENT ALL DAY LONG BUT WE WEREN’T THERE.DIDNT SEEM LIKE THEY GAVE GMG MUCH COVERAGE. WAS THIS SOMETHING TO DO WITH FOX HANDLING THE BROADCAST?

LOVE your show, I never miss it. IMHO it is better than the others. The only thing are the tweets, VERY annoying and distracting. You guys are entertaining enough, you don’t need the fluff.

Posted on February 4, 2014 at 12:55 pm
@DaveC:

PS: If you every run across a 1970 Mark Donohue Javlin you will have my attention. I had one in my teens and blew the #1 rod through the block. I guess the NOS was too much.

U guys got no idea how lucky u are down south . I’m from Minnesota and work for my dad at his autobody shop and I can’t tell u how many nasty cans of worms I’ve dug into dealing with rotted ass cars , don’t get me wrong love it to death up here but the rust in these parts spreads like the worst dam cancer lol…

Posted on March 21, 2014 at 10:22 pm
    @RR:

    That’s why I try to find cars from the South so the guys don’t have to deal with that as often. The salt on the roads up there do a number on the bottoms of the cars. I’ll take triple digit heat in the summer for mild winters any day of the week.

Not to far from Skip and I know quite a few bars around here where you can have yourself a nice cold Lite! One in particular has the coldest beer you’ll ever have! Be glad to buy you a couple 13/14 cold ones!

Oh how awesome it is to live in Scottsdale! I love all the stuff here. Car shows,auctions,swap meets,the whole 9 yards and then some with a chopped top.

@Pat:

Did I just see the 69 Boss 429 Mustang just sell on Meecum Auction in Kissimmee Florida for $417,000.00 ???? The car was touted as “unmolested” like you guys said it was. No wonder Richard was in tears after Scottsdale !!! Set a reserve next time and forget about the producers of th show.
