2017 Ford GT Mysteriously Appears At Auction

Mecum’s annual Indy auction is underway and in addition to the fleet of Corvettes, crazy concepts and any number of classics we’ve already covered, they got a real head scratcher crossing the block… A 2017 Ford GT.

Why a head scratcher you ask yourself now worried I’m reading your mind, well, Ford is a bit of a stickler when it comes to their sought after supercar. Potential owners first have to apply for a chance to buy the car, what that consists of is beyond my pay grade, but one can assume having forked over substantial sums of money to Ford in the past is a good line to have on your application. Once selected it’s pretty cut and dry, you cut a near half a million dollar check and you dry-ve away.

However, with the sale comes a minor caveat, there is a two-year ban on selling the car in the contract. As many John Cena fans know all too well as he’s currently in the ring with Ford over having sold his 2017 GT prematurely. Which brings us back to our head scratcher, how is this one being sold at auction?

Well, don’t know, but will be interesting to see how much it sells for and what Ford may ultimately have to say about the deal. Happy bidding!
