The Shelby American Automobile Club (SAAC) has a mantra on their site, “if we don’t know it, it’s probably not worth knowing.” And while in their 42 years of existence that probably rings true way more times than not, we employ a little different thought around GMG when it comes to Mustangs, “if we don’t know it, ask Jason Akers.” It’s for this knowledge Jason was invited to Indianapolis to judge ‘66s as part of SAAC-42 at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway June 8-10.

According to Jason nearly 150 Cobras and Shelbys were on hand competing to be recognized as one of the top in the land. Judging on a point scale it was possible for all, or none for that matter, of the Mustangs to claim the top classification. And while Jason couldn’t pinpoint a favorite from the event he stays true to the 1967 GT500 as his favorite Mustang model.
